Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
On the nose, blueberries, sweet cherries, raspberries, wood, licorice, earth, spices, leather, tobacco, earth, green vegetables, beef jerky and black pepper.
Full bodied and bold with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, plums, currants, oak, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, coffee, earth, bell pepper, vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Medium on the finish with round tannins and tangy pomegranates.
This South African Pinotage is nice and enjoyable. Not fully balanced, but has a great mouthfeel and mild complexity. Very tangy on the ending.
Needs an hour to open up properly and show some tannins.
100% Pinotage grapes aged in oak barrels.
