I opened this to go with my risotto with spinach and leeks, but it’s such a hit it won’t make it to dinner. This tastes way more youthful than a 10 yr old wine. Sappy, crunchy cherry fruit, fur, loads of crushed limestone minerality, sweet spice, humus. Lean, high-toned, and savory in the mouth, with great acids and a long finish. Superb.

Stunning perfume or spice, sweet cherries, ripe plums, cinnamon, sweet oak, earthy, slatey, white pepper, flowers super complex and aromatic nose. Palate is concentrated, deep with stunningly sweet fruit, depth and freshness. My god this is great. Really developed more weight and flesh since last time. What a long finish.

Need 45 minutes of air. At first it’s all oak and lean, super-high toned, almost resiny cherries. After air time, the oak integrates and you get sappy cherry extract(still high toned), mossy notes, gingery baking spice, and cracked stones aromas. The aromatics actually don’t quit in the mouth, but the palate turns lean and very minerally quickly. Then the stone stone stoney notes and acids persist in the long finish. Quite a character, this wine.

On open a pretty good village burg. You have to wait two hours. Then it caterpillars into a crazy experience. Nose has that yummy Burgundian hint if we Brick. Palate has great spice. Sweet wood fruit (not woody). Savory. Great texture. From the Mosel. Yah the German mosel. Great find Lyle. Bought from Fass selections.

What a wine. Best Pinot Noir in the Mosel? I think so. Gorgeous nose. Loads of fresh red cherries and spice. Some mesquite BBQ. Earthy, mineral, slatey, floral, violets, so fresh and pure. Sick aromas. Aged aromas. Palate is an exercise in restraint. It is masterful how elegant and nimble this is. Perfect balance and poise for days. Elegant tannin and sneaky mineral length. Beautiful fruit. This is as nimble as riesling. Love this style it German Pinot Noir.

If you aren’t hip to German Pinot Noir you are missing out.

I think this suffered by comparison, maybe tasting it after the Furst was a bad idea
