A small group of people happened to be hanging around Classic and we all pulled a few pinots out to taste side by side.

Even though it’s spelled wrong (πŸ˜‰) it was nice to finally try a wine from a winery with my name! OR Pinot is still something I’m getting used to, and I found this very thin. Strawberry and cherries jubilee on the nose. Mid palate and finish just seemed very faint. Very earth and herbal driven. Unique.

Had another bottle. Shea Vineyard, located in the Yamhill Foothills of Oregon's Willamette Valley, was first planted to wine grapes by Dick Shea in 1989 and 1990. Ruby with dark red fruit aromas with floral spice. On the palate cherry and raspberry flavors, green tea , peppers and herb spice. Good structure and balance with soft tannins on a lingering finish. Nice!

Tonight I have opened the 2013 Shea Wine Cellars Estate Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard Willamette Valley to start my weekend off.

On the nose is cherry, cranberry, raspberry, cola, clove, vanilla, charred oak and wet leaves.

The palate reveals tart cherry, tart raspberry, cranberry, vanilla, cola, vanilla a bit of spice and earth.

The wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity with medium firm fine tannins that leads to a long tart cherry finish. Stay safe, live life and enjoy your weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Needed a solid hour to open then it was off and poppin'! Brown sugar and baking spices complement the prune notes.

Good Pinot from Williamette. Dark, intense but balanced. A little higher in acidity.
