After storing this wine away for over a decade, I finally decided to open a bottle.

First of all I want to say I love Scarecrow. Always have. I could drink the '07 all day. This bottle had a 4 hour decant. But this was not as lush and balanced as I've come to expect. It has a very sweet finish that I'm having a hard time describing accurately. Like eating cookie dough out of the prep bowl. '08 Napa is just not clicking with me. I can't recall having what I would categorize as an exceptional bottle. From looking at things here on Delectable it seems I'm in the minority. I revisited it today and the same sweet astringent finish. Bummed.

This SC had a nice structure and backbone that I think helped the wines massive fruit balance out...still too young to know and at these prices, just fun to try anyways!

I love these wines. My favorite of the nouveau cults. No apologies.

Another quality vintage that exudes Rutherford dust to complement charcoal, black fruit, and fully integrated tannins. As nice as the wine was with food, I was reminded of how wonderful Scarecrow is on its own!

Nice after dinner follow up to the Barolo. Better than I thought this vintage was going to be. Maybe because it is impossible to follow the ‘07 vintage. Wonderful nose, structure and depth.
