Jan 25th, 2023Paid €60 for a bottle at Ristorante Tullio, near Piazza Barberini. Same bottle was €34 at the Florence airport. This is a super Tuscan blend. Heavier than a Chianti, but enjoyable.

Strawberry jam, cherries, and oak on the nose. Dark ruby color. You’re hit with Sangiovese grapes right from the get go. Dark fruits with sweetness. Not a lot of depth and then you’re hit with oak on the finish. Sangiovese is not my favorite but this will do as a crowd pleasing wine considering price and consistency.

Leather notes, tobacco, and dust on the nose. Some light tannins that rapidly transform to blueberry, clove, hints of mushroom and terroir, and green twigs at the end. Beautiful garnet color!
