Founded in 2005 by Mark Albrecht with promise of producing Napa wines at affordable prices, compete with $50+ wines. Had this with blind tasting of $40-$60 wines. Blend of 86% Cab Sauv, 7% a Petit Verdot & rest Merlot & Cab Franc. Dark Ruby with aromas of youthful berry fruit & pepper spice. Palate blackberry & plum with some cacao wrapped in dusty tannins. Medium+ finish ending with some toasty oak & mineral notes. An Educated Guess if this wine will age well & really compete with $50+! I don’t see it!

This was muscular enough to stand up to all the flavors of a spicy fajita meal, while still showing fruit and finesse. It doesn’t punch you in the face, but purrs, with an elegant mouthfeel and a finish that celebrates the spices of the meal.

Dry, slightly jammy, fruit forward, full bodied, medium tannins. Notes of blackberries, chocolate covered cherries, vanilla and spice finish.

Big bold Cabernet. Deep purple in color. Great nose. Leather and oak combined with black cherry and cassis. Fabulous for the money. Love this wine!

This was a really good Napa-ish Cab. The marketing story is a bit overwrought, but I’d confidently tote this along to a dinner party as a 30 second conversation piece. Inky dark cherry, complementary tannin, easy drinking for those not so into “dry red wine.” I’m not sure what Napa County + 2017 means (Napa 2017? Napa and 2017? The mind reels), so I guess I’m still guessing 🤷🏻‍♂️.
