It did drink well. Little over priced in my opinion. 3/18

Dark, impenetrable garnet with purple hues. Time and air are the key here. Upon opening you’ll get a slightly muted nose mainly of dark chocolate, big oak, and red fruit. After some time, new leather, a bit of vanilla, and spice show. Another California take on Bordeaux and this one does have a certain resemblance but it is most definitely a California meritage. Medium to fuller bodied with a decent bit of flab going on. On the palate, the initial starkness and acidity overwhelm but after some heavy decanting it will reveal itself as somewhat sleek and even sexy. All the fruit you can pack in without tipping over to fruit bomb category. Mint, graphite, and dry herbs. This has all the elements of a really nice wine but it still leaves me wanting. All in all a nice pour.
