Needed two hours and then gorgeous, sublime and beautiful. Perfect balance of fruit, Sous bois and stunning aromatics. Supple and so different than current Pierrick style which is more modern and natural. Both great this is more classic.

Mineral, spice, dark flowers, palate is dense and rich but firm with structure as well. Wonderful material and shows density and amplitude of 12 very well. Excellent sweetness and extraordinary concentration. Elegant despite its size and power. This has 15+ years ahead of it at least.

Dec 2nd, 2017This was a perfect accompaniment to our Thanksgiving meal, about 30-40 min in the decanter really helped a lot. Not temperamental at all. Lovely, deep and pure just-ripe red cherry and berry, gracious Volnay perfume, flowers, earth, sweet sage, blood orange and rhubarb. Palate was delicate, correct, but most importantly bright. Spine of stony minerality. Cleansing acid abound, great bottle with great people and food.
