Bright, some wafting black pepper spice, purple fruit, bubble gum, smoke. Some granite. Very gentle and pleasing on the palate. Good juiciness and acidity.

The wine I have opened is the 2019 Raul Pérez Ultreia Saint Jacques from Bierzo. This is a blend of Mencia, Bastardo and Alicante Bouschet.

On the nose there is strawberry, cherry, raspberry, licorice, herbal, pepper, spice and earth.

On the palate there is red fruit, strawberry, pomegranate, raspberry, blackberry, black plum, licorice, herbs and earth.

This is a medium bodied wine with a beautifully fresh mouthfeel medium + to high acidity and medium + fine tannins that has agrip to it which moves into a long red fruit herbal finish. Have a great weekend and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

This is a good bottle that packs it’s weight into a very affordable price. Complex and lingering - it goes a long way. Medium body with bright acids, tasteful concentrated blackberry, and a touch of pepper. Great with this country fried steak.

Absolutely delicious Mencía-based blend. It had a great mix of fruity and earthy, combining notes of plum, cherry, and boysenberry with notes of black tea, coffee, and herbs. Checked all the boxes for a beautiful weeknight bottle that would pair well with many different dishes. Blend of Mencía, Bastardo, and Garnacha Tintorera. 5/15/23.
