What is not great about this wine, earthy, good acid and dry. Cheap Italian wine is still hit or miss but the 2012 here is good.

A lot of tannins bite. Raspberries and blackberries notes. Good with pasta Puttanesca spicy sauce.

2016 was a good year in Piedmont. DOC is sometimes correcto. Medium bodied Barbera very drinkable very good value...medium medium medium & perfect tannins balanced...dark berry-plum flavored, nice finish.
