Swoon-worthy. Absolutely majestic. Not a wine where you want to write specific notes; the overall feeling is so much more important. Still plenty youthful at almost 22, this shows exactly why Brunello is one of the great Vin de Garde of the world. The intensity, length, and overall harmony of elements in the wine marks its quality. The fruit centers on purely ripe red berry and dark cherry flavors, backed up by pristine cedar-y, exotic 5-spice, basil-and-oregano-ish, fennel-and-tomato-y savory aromatics. The mouthfeel is assertively charming, powdered magic with a cruise-missile finish. In another 10-15, it'll likely move into a very pretty, delicate red-fruited phase, but it's a total joy to drink now.
