Don’t quite know what it is with these high quality premier cru Burgundy wines. Especially from the Cote de Nuit region. They just grab you and don’t let you go until there is no more left. Focused, grippy, tremendously vibrant with minerality and fine, polished tannins integrated in dark red and blue fruit. This 8 year old Pinot had beautifully aged notes of cigar and leather balancing out the entire experience. Met a guy once who said he would only drink quality Burgundy wines. Tonight I am agreeing with him. Tomorrow … will be another day.
