Deliciousness from the slopes of Etna. Whereas lower altitude areas suffered that year, these slopes clearly fared well in 2011. Pinot like in structure. Earthy, forest fruits, focused. It was a delicious accompaniment to a home-smoked chicken.

Stunning liquid stone, dried flowers, and crushed berries. Hand carried back from the slopes of the smoking volcano.

Drank liked aged barbaresco.

Not as expressive as previous bottle but didn't decant this. Aromatics still soar and the volcanic character is undeniable and creates so many layers with the floral and fruit characteristics. The acid is delightful and the tannins perfect with food.

Holy crap. @Alder Yarrow nails it. He turned me on to Sicily and Etna and hasn't been wrong. This is stunning wine. Cherry, crushed slate, acid for days, enveloping tannins with roses lavender and jasmine and some faint blackberry. Incredible
