Based on enjoying the 2013 & 2014 versions in the past 12 mo. I decided this bottle should get a very extended decant, ~5 hours.

The most exciting nose of prior vintages, mashed sour cherry, dry earth, autumn leaves (quite distinctly) and crushed blackberry.

Palate has earthy (slightly mocha) black cherry, Bing cherry compote and moist loamy soil. Perfectly balanced tannins, likely soothed by the longer decant, long finish, great bottle, Chambolle-like!

Very enjoyable, wait until 2022+ before opening future bottles.

@Delectable Wine For your records this is a Baden, Germany based producer. Thanks.

Look at that Fucking color. Yes that is what Pinot is supposed to look like. Gorgeous. Unreal nose. Sour cherries, dry leaves, pinpoint precision. Takes 45 minutes to an hour before the symphony begins. But the unfurling and aromatic nuances are just gorgeous. The fruit is almost non existent on the nose the first 15-30 minutes then BAM! Palate is just amazing. Red Riesling on another level. This showing reminds me of Möbitz. It’s so ethereal and lacey. Stunning. Amazing delicate and refined red cherry fruit. More mid to early season cherries and gloriously juicy and perfectly ripe. This is so fine. Velvety and delicate Lacey tannins weave in and out of the finish. Stunning almost silly freshness. Stellar.

Unscrew and pour. On the nose: blueberry, wild strawberry, more hi-toned than I remember. On the palate: gorgeous acidity, light-styled, good density, more blueberry and wild-strawberry, soft spice and velvety soft tannin on the tangy finish. Yum.

Needs an hour decant. Good not great before that.

Nose : cranberry. Cranberry flower. Good density. As this opens some earth. Almost savory. Very expansive. Penetrating perfume.

Palate: cranberries very elegant. Great texture. As it opens more savory. Long. Great.

This is a hard wine to define. Very distinctive. But very good.

Wow. Wow. Stunningly elegant Pinot noir. Very different. Old school burgundy with a hint of spatburgunder on the nose. Palate is almost lilac juice. Blind id guess mosel given the weight. Bought from fass selections.

... almost like sour cherry flower. Sort of a 40 year old burgundy sort of Feel. As this opens the nose is sick. Sour cherry and lilacs. Like volnay made in Persia ;-). Palate is sour cherry and spice with sour cherry flower internal aromatics. Insane. Almost a hint of old burgundy water on hot brick interlaced with cherry. Long Juicy finish with a kiss of bitterness.

The aromatics on this wine are spectacular. Light and ethereal on the palate, with lovely, juicy acidity. Fine tannin on the finish. A stunning PN that was a perfect red complement to a meal on a warm day. @Lyle Fass thanks for finding this!
