One of the great success stories of the vintage. Deep nose with some nice brambly red fruits. Even needs time open. With air develops classic floral Fleurie aromas. Very pretty. Even some lovely fresh dirt tones. The palate needs air as well. 1-2 hours, but it is juicy, ripe, with lovely prominent and sweet tannins. Good acid. Even some citrus on the finish.
Day 2: Nose really comes alive on day 2. Palate as well. Tannins of 08 are almost too much on day 1. Palate is sweet, deep and round on day 2. Sweet, long and dense. Brilliant. So fresh and deep.

Def some Brett on the nose. But not overwhelming. So this is still three years out. But the acid cherry fruit balance and the internal aromatics are off the charts. And this was a wretched year in bojo. Wretched. A great wine to drink with geeks to see what a great winemaker can do in poor years.

Sep 28th, 2016A truly wretched vintage. This wine was the best I had. Great cranberry fruit. A bit of forest floor. Silky Tanins. Great with duck. Really an education on great winemaking in awful years.
