Drinking nicely but will be even better in 5-10 more years. Enjoyed with crab au gratin (rich enough to stand up next to this) and steak.

Drinking the 2010 in 2018. Medium dark color. Big bouquet with strong earth notes. Lots of flavors with deep rich fruit and a dry lightly tannic finish over strong earthy flavors. Pairs very well with a rich Italian meal.

Rich and chewy. A definite food wine. Heavy on the tannins, requiring 45 minutes in a decanter. Excellent after-notes evaporating off the tongue: crushed rose petals and velvet. Not one I would drink on its own, but with pasta and red sauce, it's a winner.

The 2010 Barolo vintage is one of the best Barolo vintages in a few decades and I finally got to try one tonight from a classic producer. I wish I could drink side by side an older bottle made by them to express just how special that year is.

This wine is angry. It's opened with a cinnamon layer on the palate and nose and doesn't push it's full aromatics off the bat. After some decanting you get more raw sandy soil structure on the nose all the while child's strength tannins are tight on the palate. You get the basic red fruit layer on the palate with licorice but I was impressed with how beautiful and noticeable the soil was. I'd easily give this 10 more years and it will probably still be angry😡
