A great "go to" wine. Still solid after 10 years. Overripe black cherries dominate a lingering finish. Paired well with New York steak au poivre, which likely neutralized the wine's tannins.

Jun 22nd, 2019Last tried this wine 7/15. Now a little herbaceous on the nose.. No heavy alcohol. Soft on the palate after 20 minutes open .. Light tobacco, old leather and dark fruit. After 40 minutes it goes to plummy/prune on the nose and palate with just a hint of dark cherry. After 90 minutes, hints of licorice join the prune/dark fruit for soft, lingering finish. Maybe it's just this bottle, but I would not hold this wine any longer. Drink now.. I think it will go away soon.

Jan 1st, 2016A nicely structured cab at a very reasonable price. This wine is ready to drink ( but will hold a few more years if stored properly). Rich fruit forward.. A hot nose recedes quickly giving way to a balanced wine with good tannic structure. Plenty of soft cherry.. Hint of old leather.. Very traditional.. finish lingers. Loved it!

Wine Head friends killed 6 magnums during party. Everyone obviously enjoyed this consistent performer.
