Dark purple ruby. Opaque. Black berries, black cherries, some wood, and a cool slatey menthol like thing in the nose. Very rich and big in the mouth. Chewy. Structure is powerful and slightly overwhelms the fruit. Tastey finish. Best this has shown versus 2 other btls over past 10 yrs.

This showed very well. Lots of stuffing. Should hold for years.

So good. Smells like autumn, tastes like the refined Pinot Noir that it is -- sleek, round, spicy, earthy; ripe fruit; some licorice root and tangy soy sauce. Tannins still present but not intrusive. Long.
