It’s medium bodied, heavy for a pinot. California, of course. Cherry vanilla cola screams out obviously with plums and sweet dark cherries. As the 2016 opens there is a little leather, a little chocolate, a little spice. Really, a nice Sonoma Pinot. $18 for the next vintage??? That is a steal.

Quaffable #californiapinot blend - 72% #montereycounty, 15% #santabarbaracounty and 13% #sonomacounty. Given some time to breathe wafts up strawberry and faint spices plus a trace of oaky vanilla - I’m digging the ying/yang balance of fruit versus acid but still a bit more oak than my Old World palate prefers. Not a bad value in this price range.
