Happy 4th peeps!
This is a classic proposition for sauv blanc, but in a more restrained style. The nose is reductive; simple, which is counter-balanced by the layered and complex palate. While subtle, it opens up on the mid-palate displaying white peach and nectarines, bolstered by good minerality and delicate sweetness. Bright acidity will let this stand still for a few more years, but I would consume this vintage now. Wifey rating, and I agree.

This won’t be a crowd pleaser, and could be a love hate relationship. Right of the bat the alcohol jumps out at me, comes across as boozy. Lemon oil, lean and focused. Complex wine, changing as it moves through temperatures.

I love pretty much everything Lail makes right now. This is the brand new 2014 Lail Sauv Blanc. Consistently among the best SBs in Napa

Nose of minerals and fresh garden. Hint of mint? Fresh and tart palate.

This is such a delightful wine- smacks you in the nose with tons of ripe, white peaches/nectarines, some great floral notes. You'll enjoy the balance of citrus, acid, and surprising depth of minerality for new world wine. One of my favorite wines I've had this year and rapidly becoming one of my go-to Sav. Blancs.
