Tasted it about 2 years ago. Now it’s showing greater harmony, revealing layers of dark cherry, plum, rose, and cedar framed by supple yet still assertive tannins. The oak has begun to meld, allowing earthy spice and truffle nuances to emerge. From the lesser-known Grinzane Cavour, its muscular core is balanced with poise and depth, promising further refinement over the next few years.

Outstanding. Big body w/concentrated red and black fruit, aromatics of cinnamon and anise. Super complex, long finish, tertiary notes of cooked red plum. Wow.

Exuding power and beauty at this age. Need another 5-8 years to integrate and to show the graceful side befitting of the label.
From the lesser know commune of Grinzane Cavour, the ‘09 spent 24 months in French oak barrels, 70% new.

Dark cherry, earth and mushroom, currants and a hint of tar on the nose. Big but I just love the well integrated nature of La Spinetta.
