Another 4th Friday for the books. What a much needed time out of the house and to be with friends after this past week.

A totally different beast than the ‘12 SLH Kosta Browne I had earlier in the week...so much more complexity! The nose had a lot of potpourri and lavender mixed with raspberry pie. Black tea, blackberry pie and brown sugar (just faint, not overwhelming). It’s bottles like this that bring me back.

Had the pleasure of recently tasting 8 Kosta Browne wines. Here is another, Wow! Vivid Ruby with floral and citrus notes and aromas of blue fruits and cacao. On the palate plum and cherry flavors integrated with toasty spice tones, rich in character. Tannins are soft and well defined leading up to a lingering finish ending with earthy mineral. Good now will still benefit in with cellar time. Larger production, 2200 cases, might find a few bottles. Tasting Sample.

Bursting with fruit without being sappy it concentrated. Well integrated. Nice dark cherry color. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Always surprised by the density of this pinot. Ripe red fruits, sweet oak, Asian spices, super fresh acidity.

Massive. Lots of fruit. Lots of body. Lots of tannin. Still has another 6 years. Amazing.
