Napa Valley Chardonnay

So this was an interesting accident. I bought this (quickly) on one of those flash sale sites and misread the 2002 vintage as 2012 (oops!). But I was pleasantly surprised. While certainly past its prime it was interesting to try a 14 year old Chardonnay and this one held up. It was slightly sweet but still rich and pretty damn good. Don't get me wrong, while I certainly wouldn't purposely age this so long (to me Kongsgaard chards are pretty close to a 10 in their first 5 years), it was fun to try for sure.

Effortlessly powerful, but also full of finesse. The total package for California Chardonnay.

Was quite skeptical but actually pretty good. The time has mellowed the ridiculous amount of oak and the acids still hold this together.

Kerosene

....about as good good as it gets. Huge potential.

Drank it 3/3/13, excellent

Fruit is done but the honey is showing through. Very interesting and still enjoyable
