Wow, did this ever open up after an hour in the decanter. What started out as simple but refreshing transformed into juicy berry funky bright deliciousness. So much more unified and defined than a bottle a year ago. Great.

Dense, meaty grenache fruit and violet floral tones with spicy, savory and mineral notes as it opens up. Dense on the palate with great lift and balance of fruit and structure. Serious wine. Seriously good.

By turns the Syrah and Grenache battle it out to see who will be the top note, with the florals of the Viognier and Muscat weaving in and out around the edges. Really dynamic and changeable in the glass over a couple hours. While enjoyable now, everything points to this being much more interesting down the road once it settles into a more measured, integrated piece.
