Salina Bianco Catarratto Inzolia

History

Citrusy almond notes. On the palate M intensity with stone fruit - not unlike a Chardonnay but with more minerality salinity and bitterness (which is good). Like a lot of Mediterranean Whites it is Savoury Textural and mouth filling. My first wine from The Aeolian Islands (Salina and Vulcano) just north of Sicily.

2013. Saline, olive and lemony. A little canned fruit on the palate.

A little time on wood gives this wine great depth

When you need to get off the mainland. I'm more impressed by Hauner with every bottle. Fresh and pleasurable

Lemon, ripe nectarine, pear and strong chalky minerality. Simple wine but good and super refreshing.

60% Inzolia, 40% Catarrato

Nice fruit, crisp, lemony, stony. From a tiny lil island North of Sicily.

Low acidity, medium bodied, yellow

I love a Sicilian white wine! Especially one this salty and delicious.
