Passito-style (100% Malvasia fella Lipari grapes) dessert wine. Beautiful amber color. Aromas and flavors of orange and apricot jam with a additional hints of honey, grapefruit, nuts, raisins and lemon zest. A touch of salinity makes this dessert wine seem less sweet. Medium viscosity, waxy texture and bristling acidity. Quite complex and well balanced. Thank you for sharing this one, Ron B! — 5 months ago

Italy. White. Sicilian.
100% Malvasia grapes. This was a really interesting one; got hints of sea salt more than fruit (maybe some lemon and nectarine), straw color, thick compared to most Italian white blend/moscato/Pinot Grigio...more like a chardonnay consistency but no buttery taste - tasted much lighter. Think of cooking with butter vs olive oil - this is more like olive oil. Went wonderfully with seafood (spaghetti alle vongole)...used it to cook the dish too. Don’t really taste the alcohol (13.5% alc. by vol.). I really liked it and it was unlike other whites I’ve tried. More expensive than other whites I’ve tried but I definitely would get it again as I felt it had more depth. Not a sparkling or wine with “zing”. — 4 years ago
