I adore this Dolcetto. Nose is blackberries, leather, blueberries and smoke. Super aromatic. Layered and so pure. Just terrific. Palate is a masterful blend of ripe blackberry fruit that is super juicy and just bursting with tiny berry fruit intensity and so much flavor but backed by a strong mineral component. Not a better Dolcetto for the money. Remarkable wine. Can age for a decade.

Aug 9th, 2022Now onto the 19 which is a superstar vintage in Piedmont. Wow this nose is outstanding. Super deep and pure violets. What clarity. Stunning. 9.4 nose. Just sick. Unreal clarity of fruit. So vivid. Like one has 20/10 smell! Earthy and crushed stones and outrageous blackberry fruit. Palate is more backwards than the 18. It is tight but focused like a laser. Huge structure and much room for development. Unreal concentration and complexity. So so good. This is even more focused than the 18. Awesome blackberry fruit. Really really mineral on the finish. Great linearity and energy here.

N: Loads of Blackberries, tobacco, wet gravel, deep blackness. Herbs on the edges, violets,
P: The palate is broad and dark, with a delicious bitter finish. Dark berried, w great acidity that makes you(me) smack your lips. Nicely, nicely, done.
We’ll see how long the rest last.
