A solid but not particularly demonstrative wine. Restrained nose has dark berry skins, licorice, and some pungent minerality. Medium intensity in the mouth, but dries out quickly on the finish.

Mar 20th, 2019Takes a while to open up, but then subtle scents of crushed rock and delicately sweet berry fruit intermixed with smoke emerge. Lots of tightly wound berry/mineral flavors and a decent amount of youthful tannin. Gonna cork it up and check it out tomorrow. I expect it will show a bit more depth and complexity.
UPDATE: Night 2. Much more open. Nose has sweeter, deeper fruit, and in the mouth it's richer, showing some iron and iodine to complexify (word?) the lingering flavors. Upping from 8.9 to 9.1.

Terrific value. Sappy and Stoney. Lovely mineral granite intensity. Almost liqueur like but so fresh for being full of fruit. And a mean mineral steak. So deep. So juicy. Amazing dark fruit and an herbal element on the finish. So good.'

Also finishing the bottle on night 2. Very nice yesterday- better today. The nose is just amazing- almost as pleasurable as drinking it. Almost. :)
