Really young, the oak is there but not terrible. Very good, not great, at least not yet.

1989 vintage. Wowzers. The 1985 is close to a drink now proposition but this 1989 is just entering prime drinking territory. So intense. So fabulous. Massive, encapsulating nose. Medium body but overall, a Schwarzeneggeresque impression. Personally, almost never, ever go above a 9.6 but warranted here. F. Off the charts concentration married to pristine beauty. If you've got it lounging in the cellar, you've got (at least) a twenty-spot to decide whether to drink it or not. Have never tasted (other than vintage port(o) a wine that was already 30+ years old that showed this much youthful promise of an easy two decades of top-notch drinking ahead. Phenomenal and a don't miss.

1989 vintage. In magnum. At Gaja winery. Medium ruby hue. Tar, oil, violet, old oak notes. Almond. Very appealing. On the palate, very balanced. Medium plus acidity, ripe lush but strong tannin, medium plus alcohol, medium plus concentration. Long finish. Super. Still going strong. Should continue to improve still. Drink now until 2025.
