Napa Valley Chardonnay

1 of CA's oldest wineries, Far Niente, founded 1885 by John Benson. Winery flourished until Prohibition, when it was abandoned & fell into complete disrepair. Stately stone shell of a winery purchased in 1979 by Gil Nickel. A big wine! Tropical and stone fruit aromas with complex spice and oak notes. On the palate apple, peach and citrus flavors, creamy, with buttery toasty oak, fig/honey tones. Long finish ending with vibrant acidity & mineral character. Consistent. Tasting Sample! ‘18 bit better than ‘17.

Full body, mildly dry, balanced. Lovely soft flavors of pears, green apples. Excellent!

Great Chardonnay. Enjoyed with family and friends.

Good stuff. Not cheap chardonnay but why not.

Absolutely fabulous with Mississippi Gulf crab bisque. Crispy.

Heavier than we remembered. Very oaky and full bodied. Have to remember that.

Lemon, vanilla, oak. Nice acid balance. 2018 on the dock in Tahoe. A little smoky care of the Loyalton Fire. Be safe, drink well.

Ripe and buttery. Oak is lavish but not over the top. Enough fruits and acidity for overall balance due to non MLF.
Immensely enjoyable.

Thoroughly enjoyable Napa Chardonnay. Well worth the price in my opinion.
