Pepper, tannin, good body. Opened up nicely.

This was very good right after opening, and continued for days afterward. Full bodied and concentrated but evenly balanced. It had typical praesidium character with a hint of oxidation that I love.

Bombastic, full, pruny, but big tannic structure and acidity to round it out. Had it with steak and swooned. Lovely sour-ish nose.

Wish I could have tasted that over the course of 2-3 hours. It was dark, dry, and brooding. A witch over the kettle. Perhaps it is tasting better now, but sadly the bottle she is empty.

Lots of tannins. Needs time to open. Bold, peppery, great! Balanced but has a bite. Licorice. Great for pasta b. Needs time to open up. Need to open in a few years.

A darker profile that I wasn't prepared for. Not much Montepulciano in my life so it could be the norm but I am not sure yet. Willing to learn more so it won't be my last "Monte"
Don't you appreciate honesty?

Seemed less dry and a little bit heavier than average montepulciano, all in all pretty good

The quality of Praesidium Montepulciano is sometimes inconsistent from bottle to bottle, but this 2010 was in perfect shape (I also had a great 2006 a few weeks ago). Funky nose, dark fruit in the mouth. Not exactly a Summertime wine, but very good nonetheless.
