Intense reduction initially, which with a sufficient decant blows off to reveal ripe yellow apple and pear, pastry cream and hints of baking spices. Great concentration, midpalate depth and balanced acidity with a long and intense finish. Great stuff.

Cocktail hour at Christie's hosted by the Friends of Notre Dame in the effort to help raise money for the cathedral's restoration. The wines were artfully curated by @Noah May.
Second up was this delicious and supple white burgundy. Pears and apple blossom combine in this texturally elegant wine. The finish is adequate if a little stilted. It should be noted that when I had this wine with an elegantly crafted canapé, both exploded with taste. Next time it will be a whole bottle with a full meal!
