Domaine Maume
Aux Etelois Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir

Glue components - flawed. Overall a disappointment not just this bottle but all the other ones i tried from this vintage. Seems like they had acidic acid bacteria in the vineyard. The acetic acid reacts with ethanol you get ethylacetate and 'viola' glue taste.

Big dark fruit. A little burly. Black currant a hint of vanilla? Cardamon? Stone and earth drink now. So when young i rated this wine high but then consistently less then 9 so this vineyard is just not up there!

It's election night and this wine has cherries 🍒 but overall it's a light weight with not enough stuffing may be the poor vineyard is catching up with this. (I might have rated this higher in the past). I will try this tomorrow again. +++ Slightly better the next day with added weight and complexity. +++

This wine was closed when we opened it but the next day it turned out to be a gem. Keep for another 3 years. Great balance between acid and fruit. Tannins resolved over night and now the wine has dark berry notes and a hint of bitterness and dirt! The ripeness of the 2009 vintage shines through but is well managed. Beats any California Pinot at the price level ca. 50$ when I bought it. This is how Burgundy should taste! Low 13.3%. For a Gevrey at the village level stellar!

Sep 6th, 2015hedonistic; intense graham cracker nose. Thought it was new world because there was very little earth and tons of what I perceived to be wood but I really liked it. You'd think this lacks finesse, but it was very elegant.
