At first was convinced in blind tasting it was a German Pinot noir- that marvelous creosote & brambly berry blend. Nothing green or unripe here, perhaps the Cab Franc pokes through in just its sheer exuberance of red fruit. So many layers, fantastic balance of acid. Somehow broad yet detailed on the palate. Mesmerizing Delicious. Less pencil shavings than some unarticulated bark thing. It’s like their Chenin Blancs-moving, spiritual experiences, not just another bottle. I feel the vintner at work in a profound way. Better than fantastic. What a treat!

Jan 18th, 2023I am just obsessed with Guiberteau. So vibrant and precise. Like biting into a juicy green pepper. Thought I had ordered a re-up of les moulins chenin, but was pleasantly surprised by the rouge. Excited to try alongside the classic rouge.
