Domaine Georges Roumier
Clos de la Bussière Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Roumier particularly crushed ‘17. Even the Bussiere which is a bottling that IMO takes forever to be drinkable opens up so quick in the decanter gaining most notably in density and texture after a somewhat thin first pour. It’s bright, vibrant and pure with layers of black and blue fruit, dark cocoa, spices and earthy soil tones. The palate is seamlessly balanced, deep and expansive with fine grained tannins and a long, lifted and elegant finale. A fantastic vintage for this bottling that is already in a great spot but with of course, its best years ahead.

The chambolles were all as great as one would expect; the 19 and 17 MSDs were good but the others are unique in an unpleasant way for now.

Part of Roulot + Roumier tasting. More typical in style than the 2019, the fruit-forward hedonism is toned down. Angular and precise. Super mineral finish. Needs time…glad I have a few bottles stashed away
