Screaming at the moment. Richest Savennières I’ve had.

This is a journey in a glass. Pure golden color with great reflection. Massive floral aromatics with honey and apricots, hints of petrol (botrytis perhaps) and ripe mango. Soft, sweet tropical fruit on the entry drying out on the mid palate with a slightly bruised golden apple character, offering a rounded mouthfeel (sur lie aging). Subtle minerality on the finish, brings an herbal tea component in wonderful contrast to the almost pillowy texture on the mid palate. Med + body, high acidity, moderate alcohol, extremely versatile and food friendly. Technical notes notwithstanding, this is a Chenin Blanc of such remarkable complexity, finesse, power and balance; the sheer range and magnitude of flavors and aromas make it very difficult to describe. Pure, classic, regal. Simply lovely.

Honey, beeswax, intensely floral and aromatic. Complex, peach, apricot, honey and citrus peel palate. Long finish. Outstanding.

Absolutely lovely nose, rich, golden, botrytised wax, a bit of chenin funk but it's nice here, stewed peaches or pears. Round in the mouth but with acid drive and then an opulent finish. Delicious

Wow. The 2013 Clos du Papillon is just a perfect Chenin Blanc. Oxidative nose, complex flavors of pear and honey.

Honey, floral, a delicious fresh vine, and melon, it is rich but well-balanced by acidity. It gets tarter with air and more minerality appears, it is perfectly tasty now but should reward at least modest aging.
