Domaine des Comtes Lafon
Meursault-Genevrières 1er Cru Chardonnay
Meursault, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France

Pale Gold in colour and crystal clear. Nuances of honey florals mineral and herbal characters. With time notes of sliced pear. Plenty happening on the palate which initially was delicate and refined but developed more weight with aeration. A fascinating journey for this gorgeous mature Genevrieres and a good showing for a lesser vintage. Drink now. One of the 1001 Wines.

After the swill of the 07 Leflaive Clavoillon PM this was singing great color, white peach, great balance and a wonderful mineral backbone. These mid term white Burgs are such a crapshoot!

Nice and crisp. Lots of lemon and green Apple, yet with more opulence than a Chablis. Medium body, with a little tartness on the long finish. Great wine.

2008 vintage. At Dilettante in Beaune. Medium golden hue. Big wine on the nose - full concentration of cream and ripe lemon citrus fruits, some stone fruit and buttery oak notes. On the palate, opulent and big but with enough acidity to make it drinkable. There's a lot of oak here. Finish is good but the richness is very evident. Drink now until 2023+. The oak might integrate better over time.
