It got up into the upper 80's today and felt like busting open a Rose. I chose this 2013 Domaine de L'Aujardiere Val de Loire Pinot Noir Rose. This is a Kermit Lynch selection which holds some merit with me. The nose has notes of strawberries, cherry juice, rhubarb, and dry dusty soils. On the palate the strawberries continue through, sour cherries with a nice minerality on the mid palate and a medium acidity. This was bought for $13.99.

Bursting with strawberries and cherries on the palate. Enough acid and minerality to cut through the heat. Great cheap summer rosé.

Smooth and very drinkable. Not too fruity. Feels modern and French with a very lightly tannic mouthfeel. Dark cherry. Not much oak or spice.
