Initially a sniff of charcoal oak then the beautiful fragrance kicks in - violets developing. Amazing Intensity - refined power. Coats your mouth. Beautiful long persistent finish. Glorious. When revealed as La Tache, this was the Wine that stole the show at last years Grand Cru Tasting. Not as superior to Romanee Conti as it was last year - more on a par but they say in very good years that Romanee Conti will outlive La Tache but if you are over 60 you probably won’t be around to find out!

Delicious black and red bramble with a seamless leafy, herbaceous note. Less sandalwood and incense aromas than other DRC bottlings.

This is the best wine I've ever had. Nose is a religious experience. Would give it 105 points. Palate is similar, but ever so slightly marred with a hint of bitterness and a slightly hollow midpalate. That's the thing keeping it back from perfection.

Pepper and raspberry leaves on the nose. Round perfectly balanced not quite ripe raspberry. Can you say perfection???? Indescribable.
