De Forville
Barbaresco Nebbiolo
Still needs help in opening up, beit decant or time in bottle, but the rewards are there. Dark black fruits, a bit of creosote, somewhat austere overall.

Apr 9th, 2020Well-made, smoky Barbaresco with some oak influence. Tech sheet indicates 2 years in oak, but not much detail on the size of the barrels. Violets, sour cherry, almond, baking spices, white mushroom, sage. Plenty of acid a tannins... this 2015 needs some time in bottle. SommSelect Fall 2018.

It’s not quite infanticide drinking now, far from it, but has some rustic stuffing & truffled elegance that’s cat nip to this drinker. Could go at least several more years. Has the high toned rose hips notes but wait, with a minimum decant of 1/2 hour, for it to spread out & a broader, bass-ier note. Shows it’s pedigree Barolo maker rootsJust yum.
