5 years is slightly too old for this wine. Probably great a year ago or so.

Bright and light with no flaws. Tangy but not tart with fine acid in the finish.

This was a bit oaky on first taste. That mellowed over time and allowed the fruit to come to the fore, with the oak playing a supporting role.

Tried this back to back with the Dawn's Dream Monterey Pinot of the same vintage. The SLH is brighter, tangier and more complex. Both exhibit burnt sugar notes, but the SLH has a much stronger finish.

In Carmel. Pinots are usually too light for me, but this one is nice with more complexity than your average Pinot
