Complex aroma with sweet earth, cacao, light smoke, and red fruits. On the palate, it's smooth, structured, and and nice finish with red fruits. This wine will continue to create wonderful wine experiences as it ages the next 5 years.

2011. Earthy. Ashy. Smokey. Everything you want from a volcanic wine. With tons of acid and tannins. Stands up to food like Tyson yet elegant to drink by itself. Love it!

Enjoyed this wine at a memorable wine tasting held at the Getty Villa in Malibu/Pacific Palisades. Excellent example of an Italian red nurtured in volcanic soil. Really fun to drink as well, with fruit, earth, minerals and moderate tannins. A balanced and enjoyable Old World red.
