If there was such thing as a Napa flavored cheesecake, this would be it. Creamy, smooth, and rich, with baking spices that lean heavily towards vanilla, nutmeg, and clove. Presents enough savory, herbaceous contrast that you almost forgot how luxurious the first 30 seconds are. So, so good.

It’s been years since I’ve circled back on Mad Hatter (and even longer since I’ve brushed shoulders with it’s big brother) but I’m easily remembering why I enjoy this blend. Very approachable, relatively decent price considering its pedigree, and loaded with sumptuous notes of blackberries, spiced plums, tobacco, patchouli, cedar, sawdust, and menthol.

Enjoyed with a beautiful filet. Added hints of cherry and perfect blend of body and smoothness.

Now this is a delicious wine. Not my first exposure to Dancing Hares but definitely my first time having Mad Hatter and I'd say I am late to the party. Rich and elegant with refined tannins. Gorgeous and deep nose with dark chocolate, clove, anise, mint, menthol, eucalyptus, blackberry, espresso, and cedar. On the palate a delicious selection with a lingering finish. Dark fruits, spices, mocha, eucalyptus, and blackberry cobbler. I dig it.

Melka & Beckstoffer. Massively juicy Napa, with chalky minerality and soft integrated tannin. Banging for the money. Keep an eye on Dancing Hares.
