Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Holy moly! This stuff is showing really well right now. A great Mother's Day wine to go with the lamb shops off the grill.

I don't but 13.5 on this for a second. Stewy and disjointed with a lot of hot, prune-y alcoholic aromas and obnoxious molasses oak. Old coffee. Maybe it was just the bottle? Loved the '97 I had recently, but this was not for me. Lots more in the cellar, so we'll see.

1999 vintage. Not the greatest Napa vintage but not the worst. Decanted and tasted over the course of 1.5 hours. Super powdery sed. Big color. Earthy nose. Light-medium body. Lean flavors of coffee grounds and sherry. Not improving and likely a decade.5 past the best showings. Still instructive. Many vintages of the 1990's from this producer currently showing better. 2.4.24.

Super tight on opening. It took awhile to coax the fruit out but the structure was always present. In a real good way.

Solid - great with a steak on a Tuesday night.

tannins starting to mellow. a pleasure to drink. Many years ahead for this one in my opinion ....

A very lean, brooding nose with dark blue fruit. More reticent and serious than the others- beautifully dense fruit. Balanced, coiled and built for the long term. This is very classy

The old school dissident of the lineup. Bright mineral nose. Walks a beautiful tight wire of fruit, herbs, and oak. OG.

Surprisingly well balanced for a Napa Cab. Elegant and restrained.
