A tame malbec. Dark fruit with a heavy prune and plum nos and a little bit of oak of sweet tobacco. Balanced. Fairly smooth finish.

Cruz Alta Grand Reserve Malbec...so smooth. Peppery like a Zinfandel, but lighter. A great red to have with food...but also great all by itself.

Spicy and peppery, could use more fruit, great tingle on the tongue. Well balanced tannins. Nice for the price.

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity on the nose with white flowers, blackberries, black currants, plums, cherries, oak, light vanilla, licorice, spices, light alcohol and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and great looking legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, blackberries, vanilla, oak, light cloves, tobacco, pencil lead, ginger, bitter greens and lots of peppercorn.

Long finish with round tannins and black pepper.

This is a nice Malbec, very peppery, with interesting spices. Above average, but with some red spices on the mid palate, that made it less pleasing to me. However, it is enjoyable by itself or with food.
One has to enjoy spicy wines in order to enjoy this Malbec. Decanted for 3 hours before tasting.

Grapes grown at an altitude of 3,300 feet. Aged in mostly French oak barrels for 9 months.

14% alcohol by volume.
