Always a toss up what's gonna show up in the glass with Coturri, but the 2010 Carignane delivered! Deep savory aromas of umami, olive tapenade, blackberry fruit if any. A touch of VA, but nothing too troubling. Vibrant acidity knits together the entire palate with tapenade, blackberries, plums and wet earth mingling beautifully. Fantastic wine of interest and worth every penny.

May 25th, 2015I'm certainly no dogmatic nut on #naturalwine but I have always loved Tony Coturri's wines. Apparently this is the last we will see of the Carignane from the Testa Vineyards. Bright as heck with red marmalade aromatics and low - yes - low alcohol. Was a nice accompaniment to Blue Ribbon BBQ.

Apr 21st, 2017Big surprise to end the night. Terrific, complex, powerful. Needed some time to develop after opening up but worth the wait. Decant it.
