The signature wine from the exquisitely tended Puente Alto vineyard, deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits and espresso notes, a blend of 93% Cab Sauv, 3% Cab Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, and 1% Merlot, aged for 15 month in French oak (66% new). On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with herb and oak spice notes. Firm tannins, long finish ending with herb tobacco notes, just beginning to open, enjoy! Tasting Sample!

The smoky and earthy undertones are lovely which collect momentum with the green bell pepper, tar and black licorice aromatics that all take shape in the glass. The palate is plush, unveiling a silky mouthfeel that entices. Black tea, Asian spices, sweet pipe tobacco and rich dark fruits all collide on the palate. The freshness imparted here is really excellent. Dense and layered, with tremendous nerve and tension, this stunning wine will cellar well for two decades. Drink 2020-2038-96

We had the 2016 Vintage on 1/28/24. Tastes of blackberry, plum and leather. Refined tannins. Not bad for a wine from an 87 Vintage and from a bottle with a bad cork.

Klassiska snygga Bordeaux-drag. Kanske aningens mer gröna stick för att bara ha 3% cab franc. Lite skön stallighet och inte fullt så plastikopererad som vissa nya världen-Cabernet Sauvignon. Bra längd.
