Bright red cherry on the nose and palate mix with earth some leather. Medium, well integrated tannins. Medium finish. A great pairing with a wide variety of italian foods.

Nose: herbal, bay leaf, rosemary, anise, red fruits, tart cranberry, raisin, prune, green and black olive.
Palate: cedar, pine, resinous, red fruits. Very high acid and medium plus tannins.

Badia a Coltibuono, or "The Abbey of good harvest," lies in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, between Florence and Siena. The Abbey is approximately two thousand years old. Crimson red with aromas of black fruit and spice. On the palate blackberry, strawberry and cherry flavors, pepper spice with dusty tannins, good balance with acidity. Medium finish ending with earthy mineral tones.

Beautiful wine here. I don't know much about Italian wines, but this makes me want to learn more. Delicious cherry and red berries on the nose and very tart fruit on the palate.
