Clos De La Roilette
Cuvée Tardive Fleurie Gamay
Fleurie, Beaujolais, Burgundy, France

I like my Coudert with age. This is glorious on the nose. Underbrush, dead leaves, oolong tea, cherry fruit, mint and an over all damson vibe. Palate is elegant and mineral with nice juicy fruit but there is some drying tannin that is concerning upon opening but seems it could knit well together with air. We will see. After 15 minutes this is glorious. The tannins are getting sweeter and while still firm the fruit is getting there and it is becoming balanced but also showing nice aged aromas and on the palate but also showing a youthful exuberance. I like aging wines from "difficult" vintages. Sometimes you can age the the "difficult" aspects into something "interesting." This wine was so so in its youth.
