vintage 2004 | Drinking this in the garden, with my all time favorite dish, fresh capuchin peas (one, perhaps two weeks available) and lamb finches. Rich ripe summerfruit, blackberries, licorice, leather. Supple taste after a bit aeration, velvety taste. Love such a Grand Seigneur that staid two decades in the cellar and delivers.

Beautiful garnet red color shows some ages. Brett, mushrooms, truffles, dirty earthy notes, cigars, dark roast coffee, herbs, not many fruit character on the nose. Nice acidity, dusty tannins, very dry on the palate, meaty, this is the wine you can almost chew on. Still have decades to go. Pretty nice. 14% alc. 2004 vintage

Mar 4th, 2017Vintage 2004 - I liked the wine more when it was 8 to 10 years old, it has now lost its charm of exuberant fruit, but the tertiary autumn tones are not fully developed yet. Wine is a lifetime of experiencing!

At the very pleasant restaurant terrace. Controlled tannins. Opened very quickly but excellent from first sip. Found out after that 2003, 2005, 2006, 2009, etc were the best years. Can't even imagine. With @teresegarra and Super Seba
